This policy applies to every reservation booked through TX Tough Trailers LLC — both camper trailer rentals and experience packages. It is also part of the Trailer Rental Agreement you sign before each rental.
How to cancel
To cancel a reservation, sign in to your account and submit a cancellation request from your reservation, or contact us directly at (281) 896-7474 or frank@txtoughtrailers.com. Your refund tier is determined by the number of calendar days between the moment we receive your cancellation request and your scheduled check-in date — not the date we finish processing it.
Refund tiers
The percentages below apply to the trailer rental charge only:
- 21 or more days before check-in: the rental charge is refunded in full (100%).
- 14 to 20 days before check-in: 50% of the rental charge is refunded.
- 13 days or fewer before check-in: the rental charge is non-refundable (0%).
What is always refunded in full
Regardless of when you cancel, the following are never treated as rental revenue and are returned to you in full:
- The $500 security deposit
- The $100 cleaning fee
- Any delivery, setup, or pickup fees
- Any add-on items (generator, dump service, propane, etc.)
Sales tax is refunded in proportion to the amount refunded — you are only ever charged tax on what you actually pay for.
How refunds are issued
Refunds are returned to the original payment method through Stripe, our payment processor. We review and process each cancellation manually, typically within a few business days. Once processed, it may take an additional 5–10 business days for your bank or card issuer to post the funds.
Changes instead of cancellation
If your plans have shifted but you still want to rent, you can request a date change from your account instead of cancelling. Date changes are subject to availability and any difference in price; they are not governed by the refund tiers above.
Early returns and no-shows
There is no refund or credit for returning a trailer early or for unused rental days. A reservation you do not show up for is treated as a cancellation of 13 days or fewer (rental non-refundable).
Cancellations by us
In rare cases we may need to cancel a reservation — for example, mechanical damage to the trailer, or if the tow vehicle or driver does not meet the requirements in the Rental Agreement at pickup. If we cancel a reservation for a reason that is not your fault, you receive a full refund of everything you paid. If a cancellation results from your failure to meet the tow vehicle, driver, license, or insurance requirements, the standard refund tiers above apply.
Weather
Poor weather is not on its own grounds for a refund outside the tiers above. The Rental Agreement separately prohibits use of the trailer during named storms or hurricanes without our written approval; if a mandatory evacuation order or a named storm affects your rental dates, contact us and we will work with you in good faith on rescheduling.
